An “excellent” initiative from an “excellent” conference

What is it that makes a paediatric event stand out from the rest? Could it be an extraordinarily stimulating scientific programme? A selection of high-calibre speakers from across the globe? The vision to help secure a better and healthier future for all children? Or maybe a creative mix of scientific merit and social responsibility ?

Excellence in Paediatrics 2010 Conference, the second in a series of annual international conferences in the field of paediatrics, has recently revealed the secret. The Conference Organisers were proud to announce that the total income generated by the workshops’ registration fees-approximately €3,700-will be donated to KEEP A CHILD ALIVE to support its mission in the fight against AIDS. This praiseworthy initiative could not have been possible without the generous contribution of the conference delegates who paid the reservation fee, not only to attend the scientific workshops, but also as a personal commitment to help save childrens' lives in Africa and India.
It should be noted that the income generated will be used to buy food, clothing and shelter as well as for education purposes for approximately 5 households with children for one year.

KEEP A CHILD ALIVE is a registered 501(c)3 charity in the US dedicated to providing life-saving anti-retroviral treatment, care and support services to children and families whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. So far, KEEP A CHILD ALIVE has been able to provide first class AIDS care and support, care for orphans and food with a healthy dose of love and respect to 250,000 people.
